Numbers 31:26-28

²⁶ ‘You and Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the family clans must count all the people and animals that you took in the battle. ²⁷ Give one half of all those things to the soldiers who went to fight the war against the Midianites. Give the other half to the rest of the people. ²⁸ From the half which belongs to the soldiers, keep one part out of every 500. Do that with the Midianite prisoners, the cows, the donkeys and the sheep. Those parts will be for the Lord.
